Sustainable development and environmental responsibility are major factors in product design and strategic development in the packaging industry. Rani Plast aims for carbon neutral production by 2035.

We aim for:

Sustainable packaging solutions

  • Increasing the use of renewable raw materials.
  • Supplying recycled alternatives for all our films.
  • Supplying products that are easy to reuse, recycle and discard.

Circular economy

  • Ensuring full readiness to produce recycled and renewable films.
  • Reducing annual plastic spill and securing 100% re-use.
  • Using fossil free and renewable energy sources.

Optimised use of plastic

  • Providing customers with information on new raw material alternatives.
  • Continuing to reduce film thickness.
  • Supporting customers in identifying optimal use of our films.

Social responsibility

  • Acting responsibly in society and respect human rights.
  • Striving for an accident-free work environment.
  • Encouraging our employees to present new development initiatives.

Rani Plast develops and implements sustainable solutions for a circular economy

Spring & summer 2022

  • Renewed our green energy supply contract
  • Renewed our ISCC Plus Certification
  • Signed the Energy Efficiency Agreement
  • Published our new Code of Conduct
  • Installed two new in-line regranulation units

Autumn 2022

  • Installation of solar panels
  • Installation of new regranulation facility
  • Launch of new energy efficient extrusion lines

Plan for 2023-2025

  • Analyse the transition to biogas as fuel for forklifts and printing lines
  • Analyse the transition to biodiesel as fuel for transportation vehicles
  • Continue to increase share of recycled and renewable materials in film production
  • Increase the share of  materials originating from a closed loop system

End 2023 target: For 25% of raw materials to be renewable and have a recycled origin

Rani Plast takes climate change and sustainable development very seriously. In fact, we have created sustainable solutions throughout our history like, for example, optimising material efficiency.
