Andreas Häll “My role is to support others” It is fair to say that Andreas Häll has come a long way. Like many other Lappfors residents, he spent a summer in his youth working at HP Rani Plast. There was then a lapse of a few years, after which an internship saw him walking through the factory doors again. Fast forward ten years, and Andreas is responsible for the factory’s production. Inside the production hall, he stops and talks to a couple of colleagues who are packing rolls of pink garbage bags into boxes. One of them has worked for the company for 40 years. — I have learned a lot from my older colleagues, and now it is my turn to teach others, he says. I see myself as someone who people can go to for support — new employees, or anyone else who needs help. Just before our interview starts, we see Andreas operating a forklift, loading deliveries onto a lorry. The person normally responsible for logistics is on sick leave, and Andreas never hesitates to jump in when needed. He appreciates the company’s community spirit and its emphasis on personal development. It has enabled him to progress from an entry position to a managerial job, overseeing staff and optimising production. Every year, over 300 million garbage bags and almost 400 million freezer bags go out into the world from the Lappfors factory. Its packaging is adorned by the logos of well-known domestic and international retail chains. — Andreas says: I sometimes wonder where all these bags go. The numbers of them that we produce here in this little village are incredible. What is the best moment of the working week? – When a successful working day has come to an end.
