Reach your sustainability goals with RaniCircular News 9.1.2025 Meeting your sustainability goals is easier than ever with RaniCircular, our sales and marketing concept for packaging films made from recycled raw materials. RaniCircular encompasses all the ways in which we can support your environmental targets. One way in which we do this is by ensuring that all our films are recyclable. This makes it easier for you to comply with the newest EU directives. Another is that we can manufacture almost all our packaging films with recycled raw material, which helps you to meet consumer demand for sustainable products. With RaniCircular, you can choose from a wide range of films containing varying shares of recycled content, including the following. Post-industrial Recycled (PIR) material: plastic waste from industrial manufacturing. Post-consumer Recycled (PCR) material: plastic recycled after consumer use. Chemical recycling: material broken into basic chemical components and reused in the production. Bio-circular recycling: material derived from biological waste and residues. Efficient reuse of production scrap Part of our recycled raw material content comes from our advanced regranulation facility, which enables the efficient reuse of production spill and supports our closed-loop approach to plastic. – At Rani, we aim to lead change. We are well positioned to meet the targets outlined in the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), including a recycled material content of 35% in our films by 2030, says Rikhard Storbacka, Procurement & Product Development Director. We also offer RecyClass certified packaging films to ensure full traceability of the recycled material. This helps you to report sustainability activities in alignment with the EU’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive. Finding the optimal share of recycled content The optimal share of recycled content in your packaging depends on factors such as film application, intended use, production line capabilities, and sustainability goals. – We’re here to assist, says Jan Knutar, Sales Manager. We work closely with you to find the proper share of recycled content that strikes a balance between functionality, efficiency, and environmental effects.
