News

Matti Laurila will succeed Mikael Ahlbäck as CEO of Rani Plast on March 7. Ahlbäck will focus his attention on strategic matters within the Rani Group.

Matti Laurila has extensive managerial experience across different industries. He has served as CEO of Ekeri in Pedersöre, a family business that manufactures solutions for the transport sector, for the past five years.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ekeri, but have always had an interest in the developments at Rani Plast. It’s a family-owned, successful, and international business and I’m excited to join the company.”

The packaging industry has become a growth area in recent years, and demand for sustainable packaging solutions is growing continuously. According to Laurila, the future looks bright for Rani Plast. Its capability and continuous investments in production facilities enable the company to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

The company has a goal of achieving climate-neutrality by 2035 and embeds sustainability into its day-to-day business.

“I’m new to the process industry and it will take time to familiarize myself with all the processes. Fortunately, there is an enormous amount of expertise within the organisation. Another advantage for the company is the fact that Rani Plast is a family business with a streamlined decision-making process.”
