Account Manager, Sweden
Mathias, 51 has worked in the plastics industry since 1999 and joined Rani Plast as Account Manager in early 2019 to grow sales in Sweden and Denmark. He is based in Anderstorp in central southern Sweden where the Rani Plast office employs a staff of four.
Hunting new customers
“I am responsible for customers in Denmark and Sweden who need packaging for wood pellets, straw bedding, soil bagging and engineered wood, but my other key job is to find new customers!” says Mathias.
Typically, he is in the office for a week and then out travelling the next. “I like the variety and being out in the filed meeting new people,” says Mathias.
“I like the variety and being out in the marketplace meeting new people.”
What is he passionate about?
He is particularly keen on helping new customers with Rani Plast products. By working closely with customers, he can help develop products to suit their needs. Having been in the industry for more than 20 years he is impressed with Rani Plast’s customer service and the follow up policy on customer film trials.
“It’s easy to contact people and get involved”
Although Mathias is based in Sweden he feels part of the Rani Family. “It’s a flat organisation, quite familiar. It’s easy to contact people and get involved with product development,” says Mathias, who has been used to more bureaucratic corporate structures in the past. He spent a week at head office in Finland when he started, during which he was provided with the company information and procedures he needed to prepare him for his sales tasks.
Four minutes from home
It takes Mathias just a few minutes to walk from the office to home, where he lives with his partner Sofia and their two teenage children. He’s a keen mountain bike rider and he also enjoys getting out into his own forest with his chain saw where he can work with timber.
